The Mt. SAC Faculty Association recognized the critical role adjunct professors make
to the campus at an annual celebration hosted by the faculty鈥檚 union. In addition
to adjunct faculty, full-time faculty, management, executive management, and board
trustees attended the event.
鈥淭he College could not function without its adjunct professors,鈥 said Faculty Association President Emily Woolery.
Indeed, amongst Mt. SAC鈥檚 1,500 professors, a full 70% are adjunct faculty.
鈥淎djunct professors provide outstanding instruction, counseling, and support services to students. In some cases, they do this work while facing challenging situations,鈥 said Woolery.
Adjunct professor of English as a Second Language, Marina McLaughlin loves her role at Mt. SAC. 鈥淎s an immigrant who learned English as a second language, it warms my heart to be part of their journey and to earn their trust as their guide.鈥
Woolery said the celebration, 鈥済ives us an opportunity to thank our adjunct faculty
colleagues for the work they carry in support of our students, departments, and 糖心Vlog传媒.鈥
