GE Requirements: New Numbers, Same Classes

Some of the most important general education classes at Mt. SAC have new course numbers and names, effective this 2025 Fall Semester. These are the same classes, same professors, same transfer credit 鈥� just with updated names and numbers to match other colleges in California.
NEW CLASS NAMES
- ENGL 1A: Freshman Composition 鈫� ENGL C1000: Academic Reading & Writing
- ENGL 1C: Critical Thinking & Writing 鈫� ENGL C1001: Critical Thinking & Writing
- MATH 110: Elementary Statistics 鈫� STAT C1000: Introduction to Statistics
- PSYC 1A: Introduction to Psychology 鈫� PSYC C1000: Introduction to Psychology
- POLI 1: Introduction to American Government & Politics 鈫� POLS C1000: American Government & Politics
- SPCH 1A: Public Speaking 鈫� COMM C1000: Introduction to Public Speaking
