U.S. Capitol on $50 billHalf of the $17.5 million ($8,728,980) must be available to students in the form of emergency cash grants to help students pay for housing, food, and other basic essentials. The other half is to help schools offset financial losses from the outbreak.

Dr. Wiliam Scroggins鈥淭his will be a considerable boost for our students who are trying to continue their education and further their earning power for themselves and their families,鈥 said President and CEO, Dr. William Scroggins. 鈥淲ith the college closed and unable to support special populations like foster youth or undocumented students, part of the funds will allow them to have access to the necessary resources鈥

The college is set to release information for students to apply for the emergency grants in the near future.
