The Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990 was renamed the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act in 1998 in memory of Jeanne Clery, a Lehigh University student who was murdered in her dorm room in 1986. It is commonly referred to as the Clery Act and requires all post-secondary institutions participating in Title IV student financial assistance 糖心Vlog传媒 to disclose campus crime statistics and security information. The purpose of the Clery Act is to provide timely and accurate information so members of the campus community can make informed decisions about their own safety. The Clery Act also requires that Mt. SAC maintain a daily crime log and notify the campus community about crimes that pose an ongoing threat. The Campus Emergency Alert System is used to notify students, faculty, and staff about campus emergencies with voice, text and email messages. Be sure to sign up so you receive these important messages.

Clery Act

In accordance with the Clery Act, the Daily Crime Log records criminal incidents and alleged criminal incidents that occur at 糖心Vlog传媒 and are reported to the 糖心Vlog传媒 Police and Campus Safety Department.

Daily Crime Log

A Campus Security Authority (CSA) is an individual who, by virtue of his or her responsibilities, is designated to report criminal incidents to the Police and Campus Safety Department. CSAs have completed training on crime reporting, victim support, and school policies. CSAs are required to complete a , with the Police & Campus Safety as soon as it is practicable. Contact Police and Campus Safety at (909) 274-4555, and an officer will respond to collect the report. For questions regarding the Clery Act, contact the Campus Clery Coordinator at (909) 274-5538.

The Mt. SAC Annual Security Report is produced to comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security and Crime Statistics Act. The report includes policy statements and specific information regarding Mt. SAC鈥檚 safety and security 糖心Vlog传媒. It includes three years of statistics for particular types of crimes that occurred on campus and on public property on or immediately adjacent to the campus.

In compliance with Penal Code Section 13650 (Senate Bill 978), a copy of the Mt. San Antonio College Police and Campus Safety Department鈥檚 Policy Manual (revised April 5, 2025) is available for public review.

Disclaimer: The Policy Manual is current as of the date indicated. However, it is a living document that is subject to constant change. New laws, court decisions, college policies, methodologies, and other factors dictate the need for a continual review of these policies, initiating revisions where necessary and appropriate. California Senate Bill 978 (SB 978) requires each local law enforcement agency to conspicuously post on their websites all current education and training materials that would otherwise be available to the public if a request was made pursuant to the California Public Records Act. The following is a list of all applicable trainings and related documents.

Racial and Identity Profiling Act (RIPA) Data

 In 2015, California passed the Racial and Identity Profiling act (RIPA), mandating all state and local law enforcement agencies to collect and report detailed information about every person detained and/or searched by police.
 
RIPA requires officers to report their perception of personal characteristics (age, gender identity, LGBT+ status, race/ethnicity, limited English fluency & disability status) along with the reasons for the detention/search, additional actions taken by the officers, and the outcomes of the stop. RIPA data from every police department in California is sent to the state Department of Justice for analysis and publication.
 
The Mt. SAC Police and Campus Safety Department has not collected any stop data to date. Once data is collected, it will be posted here by month and year.

California Senate Bill 1421 (SB 1421) was signed into law and went into effect on January 1, 2019, which amended California Penal Code Section 832.7 and gave public access to police personnel records related to reports, investigations, and findings pursuant to the California Public Records Act (Government Code Section 72900 et seq.) related to four distinct categories:

• Records relating to the report, investigation, or findings of an incident regarding an officer-involved shooting.
• Records relating to the report, investigation, or findings of an incident involving the use of force by an officer resulting in death or great bodily injury.
• Records relating to an incident involving a sustained finding of sexual assault by an officer involving a member of the public.
• Records relating to an incident involving a finding of dishonesty by an officer directly related to the reporting, investigation, or prosecution of a crime or an investigation of misconduct by another officer.
  
  

 SB 1421 provides an exhaustive list of the types of records to be disclosed, including, but not limited to, all investigative reports, photos, audio and video recordings, transcripts, documents presented to the District Attorney for review, internal investigation reports, and disciplinary records.
 
The Mt. SAC Police and Campus Safety Department does not currently have any applicable records pursuant to SB 1421. In the event any applicable records come into existence, they will be posted here to satisfy the requirements of SB 1421 and the California Public Records Act.
