Review the FAQs prior to email inquiry

    • What courses do I need to complete in my first semester?

It is recommended that you concentrate first on completing your English and Math requirements. Furthermore, if you know what you want to study (major), and your educational goal (certificate, Associate Degree, Transfer preparation, etc.), then begin with a blend of these courses. If you are undecided on your major or plan of education, take COUN 51-Career Exploration, COUN 5-Career & Life Planning, or complete an Undecided Workshop offered each day through the Counseling Department. To learn about Mt SAC's major and educational options, review the College Catalog. The  provides information on course requirements for over 200 majors. Mt SAC offers three general education patterns: Associate DegreeCSU GE, or UC GE (IGETC).

    • How many units do I have to take?

That's entirely up to you. Twelve units gives you full-time student status. But if you register for fewer than 12, that's okay, too.  The College sets a limit of 18 units for all students. Students wishing to enroll in more than 18 units in one semester must get a counselor's approval. Students are limited to 7 units for summer and winter sessions.

    • What options are available if a course I want is closed?

       1.

      2.

Welcome to Mt. SAC! If you plan to take one course, or transition to Mt. SAC to complete your educational goal, and you attended another college, to Admissions & Records before enrolling in courses. If you completed English and/or math, request for eligibility clearance by calling Admissions & Records at 909-274-4415.

You may request a ONE time clearance for courses using this online counseling inquiry. Be prepared to upload unofficial transcript, list course name (e.g. Introduction to Psychology - PSYC 1A), the term (e.g. fall, spring, winter and/or summer), and year. Finally, .
