Fall 2026 UC Transfer Application Timeline

Please review all university communication carefully - UC campuses may request additional information. Deadlines and application requirements can vary by major and applicant type (e.g. international students, returning students, and military veterans).

    • September 1 – 30, 2025: Submit TAG Application (if eligible)

      You might qualify for guaranteed admission to a UC campus! requirements on each UC website and attend a and for details.

    • October 1 – December 1, 2025*: Submit UC Application

      • Attend  and use to get started.
      • The UC application opens on August 1. You can get an early start, but the application must be submitted October 1 – December 1.
      • Fill out your application and visit us during drop-in hours at the Transfer Center or on Zoom to ask any questions before you submit.
      • Work on your responses.

      * This is the priority application filing period. Some campuses and majors may accept applications after this deadline. Deadlines may also vary for international students and veterans. 

    • December 1 – March 2, 2026: Apply for Financial Aid

      Submit your 2026-27

      • 2024 income/tax information will be needed.
      • List all universities that you are applying to so that they can provide a financial aid estimate after your admission offer. You do not need to wait until you have been accepted.


      March 2 is the priority deadline and the deadline for Cal Grants.

    • December 2025 – Summer 2026: Check email and UC portals frequently
      • Look out for emails about important deadlines and next steps.
      • UCs may email you to request additional information or clarification.
      • Some UCs will ask you to create a portal on their website and may use it to communicate important information.
    • January 2026: Update UC Application

      • The UC Transfer Academic Update (TAU) update opens in mid-December and must be submitted by January 31.
      • Enter your fall 2025 grades and update winter/spring 2026 courses.
      • Continue to update your application until the end of March if you make additional changes to winter/spring 2026 courses.
      • UC Berkeley requires additional by January 31.
    • March – May 2026: Receive UC admission offers

      Check your email and UC portals for admission decisions and application status.

    • June 1, 2026: Accept admission
      • Deadlines may vary. 
      • Submit the Statement of Intent to Register/Enroll and pay the deposit (if required) to secure your spot at the UC you plan to attend.
      • Follow next steps and meet all deadlines for transcripts, financial aid documents, orientation registration, and housing applications.
      • After you are admitted, UCs may require initial official transcripts.
    • July 1, 2026: Submit official transcripts
      • Order official transcripts on the Mt. SAC portal student self service menu (#19).
      • If you have attended other colleges, you need to request transcripts directly from those schools even if they were submitted to Mt. SAC.
    • July 15, 2026: Submit official AP/IB scores
      If applicable, order official AP and/or IB exam scores to be sent to the UC you will be attending.
    • Submit IGETC certification (deadlines may vary)

Application Checklist

Have these items available when you're ready to apply:

  • Unofficial transcripts - you’ll need to enter all the courses you’ve completed on your UC application; those that are currently in progress; and any you plan to take. Transcripts will be requested by campuses as needed.
  • Your Social Security number, if you have one.
  • Your citizenship status (or visa information for international students)
  • A method of payment for the $80 application fee (per campus) - you can pay the application fee by credit card. The application will determine your eligibility for a fee waiver for up to four UC campuses.
  • 2024 annual income - your parents’ if you are a dependent; your income if you are independent.
  • Responses to the Personal Insight Questions - you’re encouraged to write your responses to the Personal Insight Questions in advance and then paste them into the application.
