The Associate of Arts in Studio Arts for Transfer is designed to facilitate successful transfer to baccalaureate art degree 糖心Vlog传媒. This degree provides students with the lower division breadth and depth of the field of art. This degree exposes students to the core principles and practices in the field. Students will learn to visually express personal experience and thought with skill and clarity. Students will acquire fundamental visual experiences and concepts basic to many forms and fields of art, animation and design.

To earn an Associate in Arts in Studio Arts for Transfer (AA-T) a student must complete 60 semester units that are eligible for transfer to the CSU that consist of: IGETC pattern or CSU GE breadth and a major of at least 18 units. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in all CSU-transferable coursework to receive an associate degree for transfer and all courses in the major must be completed with a C or better. Students earning an associate degree for transfer will not be required to complete any other local graduation requirements.

Students will acquire fundamental visual experiences and concepts basic to many forms and fields of art, animation and design. Coursework subjects include the history of Western art, drawing, design, color and composition, and painting.

    • How Do I Know This Major Is For Me?

      Studio Arts majors are typically creative students who are open to trying all artistic mediums. If you鈥檙e not ready to commit to any one medium and you love bringing your ideas to life, studio arts may be the major for you. Studio areas in fine arts include ceramics, digital art, graphic design, metal-smithing and jewelry design, painting/drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture and fibers, among others. Students will practice the art of critique with peers while learning skills and techniques to work more efficiently and consistently. Artists are creative problem-solvers, visually aware, self-disciplined and enjoy experimentation. A major in Studio Arts can result in a rewarding career path, including professions such as advertising artist, graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, set designer and mural artist, among others.
