Course Name: Introduction to EMS System

Outcomes:
  • Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to perform a scene survey, properly utilizing resources and distinguishing safe from unsafe scenes. Perform a basic patient assessment of medical and trauma patients
  • Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to Check vital signs in a lab setting, including identifying normal and abnormal vital sign parameters.
  • Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to Perform CPR and basic airway management skills for healthcare providers (HCP) to American Heart Association (AHA) standards.
  • Students will successfully demonstrate the interpretation and management of physical and mental health needs of an EMT.
